The cost of raw materials is an important part of coatings production
The Panel on the Paint and Coating Industry: Issues of Raw Material Supply has taken place within the supporting programme of the Interlakokraska 2022 International Exhibition for Paints and Coatings. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Centrlack Association and the Chem-Courier Information Agency.
Suppliers and consumers of raw materials for paint production evaluated the current situation in production and discussed pricing problems in the industry. They discussed issues of raw material supply to the industry, import substitution, localisation, prospects for supplying foreign raw materials to the Russian market and much more.
According to Valery Abramov, the moderator of the panel, General Director of Russkiye Kraski, Chairman of the Board of Centrlack Association, paint is a complex product consisting of many components, and raw materials play a huge role in the structure of this product. The market is under conditions of fierce competition, in which the cost of production is of paramount importance. Therefore, the cost of raw materials is extremely important in today's environment.
The panel participants – heads of the major industry business – plan to report the panel’s results to the governmental bodies for joint solution of the topical industry issues.
