2nd Competition of Projects of Young Scientists takes place at Interlakokraska 2017 exhibition
The 2nd Competition of Projects of Young Scientists has taken place on the sidelines of the Interlakokraska 2017 exhibition’s event program at Expocentre. The contest was organized by Expocentre, Centrlack Association of Manufacturers, Suppliers and Consumers of Coatings and Paint Raw Materials and the LKM Press publishing House.
“The contest is an opportunity to present one’s work, to attract attention of industry professionals and to receive a feedback from academicians and professionals for understanding feasibility of the projects and their ability to contribute to the paint and coating industry’s development,” Russian Coatings journal chief editor Olga Skorokhodova said. The primary objective of this contest is to attract young specialists and to offer them employment options. Ten reports were presented at the contest by post-graduate students and researchers from various regions of Russia.
“It is crucial for our plants to rely on a solid academic foundation, which will give them a competitive edge,” Centrlack Association Director Gennady Averyanov said in his comments on the profound change in the Russian paint and coating industry triggered by the arrival of foreign manufacturers on the Russian market. Ideas of the younger generation of scientists should be innovative from the theoretical and practical angle, so that they could be implemented and win their place on the market, he said.
